5 Reviews on “Happy State Bank”
I have banked with Happy for almost 11 years now. Unfortunately, with the switch to Centennial, Happy is the last thing I am when it comes to the service provided. The mobile app has gone to trash and the online banking was very obviously designed by someone older than the internet. Before, it was always a pleasant experience to call customer service and have my issues handled in a timely, professional, and lets not forget happy, manner. Now a days you’re lucky if your problem is addressed at all and the surprising amount of attitude and lack of customer service skills, will be all you walk away with. It took me two weeks and 6 attempts to get someone from this branch on the phone after being repeatedly reassured by customer service that someone would be calling me back and never did. The original problem that I’m reaching out for is still in the works on being fixed. I got told I would receive a callback and I have very little to no faith that will actually happen.
The new manager of this branch informed me that she just got here recently as the old manager quit last month and they are understaffed and “trying to catch up.” Amongst this mess my debit card expired and I still have not received a new one.
My advice to anyone considering opening a happy state bank account is simply: DON’T.
If you currently bank with Happy my advice is the same… DON’T.
If you open a Chase banking account you can get 200 bucks for it and your debit card will arrive in a matter of days. I’m looking forward to closing my Happy State Bank account and never looking back.
They close early so you have go to the drive thru. Terrible bank don’t know how a check doesn’t go thru when the money is in the bank for the check and then get a fee and then credited back the check money but still charged a fee.
I have twice now walked in at 3:00-3:15 to ask questions about opening an account, only to be locked in the building when they closed at 4:00 without being helped.
Tried calling on the phone to get answers earlier in the week and got nobody at 3 locations. Gave up after being on hold for 15+ minutes.
Decided to go with a different bank. If just opening an account was this terrible, I can only imagine how bad it would be if I had actual issues. Stay away!
My company banks with this place. I’m here MULTIPLE times a week. It never fails when I go through the drive thru, all lanes full and 2 or 3 people inside just kinda standing around staring at you. . . .I don’t presume to know the technicalities of being a teller, but I’m pretty sure customer service may be part of it. Just putting it out there.
07/29/22 – Although struggling with various issues (employee lossage; deposits appearing, then vanishing, only to reappear hours later; doubled withdrawals and unexpected overdraft fees; etc.) resulting from transitioning to Centennial …
