    31 years I’ve had an account with OOFCU. They used to be great, now they just ignore you both in the lobby and at the drive thru. Their supervisor approves of their apathetic customer service and just hides behind the we are short handed excuse. There is NO EXCUSE for ignoring members. NONE. The old guard there understood that. I miss them.

    I called into the credit union and my loan officer Victoria Osorio, was able to give me all the information needed in order to buy my future vehicle. She’s easy to work with and understood my needs. I would definitely recommend her for your next auto loan.

    I had this credit union for over 20 years. Anytime there’s an issue, the staff can not help. The supervisor, Lettie, went so far as to give me her extension and tell me if I needed anything, call her. the minute I needed to talk to her, she would not come to the phone. I have since changed credit unions. This credit union has awesome customer service. They have been around for years.Old ocean has not, I’mproved in over 20yrs. So sad 😞

    The follow up with Victoria is lacking. A simple phonecall or email is easy to do especially when a matter is urgent. I even spoke on the poor reviews when I initially spoke to her and we laughed about them, because I just assumed that people were disgruntled. Though, people are disgruntled for a reason. Customer service just has to be a priority no matter what the circumstances are.

    Wow! I thought maybe the other negative reviews were being possibly a little harsh. Unfortunately they were not. I just had the most insulting experience with this bank!
    And let me clarify, I was, in no way rude or obnoxious this very short conversation.

    I called to inquire about opening a (new) account as I had just moved here. I had also mentioned that I had some currency that was damaged. It seemed as tho The manager (who I had asked to speak directly with) was so eager to tell me a “no”, that she neglected to ask me even the most basic questions. I had mentioned I had just moved to the area and was looking to open an account at a local credit Union ( of course with the proper ID*Which she didn’t ask about; and with the amount required to open an account* which she also didn’t ask about). In a very short conversation where the manager learned next to nothing about me, she was quick to say she “…did not want to establish a banking relationship.. ” And that I should “… Just continue to use (my old bank…”. I was almost speechless when she said that!
    Before I could say anything she said, “thank you, good bye.” And hung up.

    Wow!

    Well, looks like I dodged a bullet with that conversation. I most certainly won’t be opening an account with THIS particular Credit Union.

    They may have been around for a while, but if they continue at the rate I just witnessed, I can’t see them around for another decade.
    Maybe you have to be part of the “good ol’boy” clique to be considered “a valued member”.
    I certainly felt de-valued as an individual, after speaking with that particular lady!

    I won’t be investing in Old Ocean Credit Union.
    I most certainly would NOT recommend This Credit Union

    Additional note;
    I had heard from several local people that they didn’t like Old Ocean Credit Union, but was never given a detailed reason. But I get it now…..
