I was going to open a checking account at this location last Thursday, August 31. The young lady at the front desk in the afternoon with hair back was rude and not friendly. Decided to leave.
Opened a checking account at the Killeen location by Stan Schuleter next to the gas station. Customer service was better so I decided to open a checking account here based on their friendly customer service and professionalism.
Saturday, September 2, 2023:
However, on Saturday September 2 I had to go back to the Harker Heights location due to a situation where the Killeen location FROZE my checking account, CHANGED the status where I only can put cash in without notification (found out by a manager on the customer service line ), and WAS NOT going to give me back my deposits I just put in on Thursday, August 31 at the bank due to a PAYPAL that was sent to me by partner to pay a bill on Friday, September 1 in the afternoon.
After talking to the ITM on Saturday morning in Round Rock, I FINALLY received an email that I was able to get my deposit back, but I have to go to Harker Heights and I live in Round Rock. So I rushed on the highway in traffic due Labor Day weekend to get MY money, but THEY are STILL holding my PAYPAL that was sent to me by my partner.
When I get there, the lady in the drive through window at the Harker Heights location was rude AS WELL. I I told her I needed to withdraw some money. She begin questioning me why I did not go to the ITM. I told her I was told to come here and I from Round Rock. She continued telling me to go to the ITM next time and then I showed her my phone with the email that was sent for me to get my deposit back at the Harker Heights location. By her reaction she obviously knew I was coming. She gave me my money in the envelope AND put NO RECEIPT of the withdrawal transaction. Who does that? Luckily I screenshot the transaction from the Vera App on my phone showing the withdrawal.
As a result of THIS experience at Vera Bank, I was not able to pay my bill due Friday, SEPTEMBER 1st because they are holding my PayPal and froze my account.
I NEVER saw a banking institution like this in my life. Poor CUSTOMER SERVICE. QUESTIONABLE Banking service. They ALSO need professional development on customer service at this branch. PLEASE BE AWARE. I just read a google review that had a similar banking experience. If I would’ve known I would’ve never went here.
Once I get my PAYPAL that was sent on Friday, September , I am CLOSING this account. This experience happened within 2 1/2 days after opening the account. DO NOT BANK here. As of right now, I have my deposit back, but I had to call customer service several times and talk to their supervisors. This took from after 8:00am to 10:45am and a hour drive on the phone on a Saturday to get MY money. At this time, I’m still waiting to get my PAYPAL so I can pay my bill. I PRAY no one ever have to go an experience like this. Respectfully.
