BCL offers complimentary budget coaching which is amazing if you need to get back on track with your finances. I worked with Pamela and she is amazing! She helped me with an action plan that focused on short term, mid term, and long term goals. She also provided me with a list of resources I could use to understand my spending habits and how to allocate my income. We also worked on a plan for purchasing a new home which is so exciting! Pamela is patience, kind, compassionate, and holds a safe judgement free space to be honest about your situation and personal goals. I encourage everyone to check it out!

I applied for a loan since February 1st for my start up business. However, until now as we speak, it is June 16th and my application is still somewhere, no one even looked at it or say anything. I tried to contact them by phone call and via message. They somehow unlocked some of the steps so I could continue ,last week I called and talked to the loan officer. He said he personally looked at my application and called me back in a couple days. However, no one ever called. I mean if you don’t approve the loan then just told me so I can get it somewhere else. More than 4 months gone by and they still blamed their system problems. I think they pick and choose who they want to help. If you need a loan for start up business, you can stop hoping because it will die before you start.

I can’t express enough how much I appreciate the help I’ve recieved from BCL of Texas. I have had three different and all wonderful experiences with BCL.
When I learned I was pregnant with twins, I decided to I needed to buy my first home. While juggling a highrisk twin pregnancy, working overtime and training for a new position at a very demanding job, BCL made the grant application process easy for me as a first time home buyer. Their help securing a grant for part of the downpayment costs afforded us an oppurtunity to secure our first home at a reasonable rate. As a first time mother this allowed me to focus on my new job, our new family and the challenge that is nurturing twin infants.

A couple years later I started a family business that was growing quickly and thriving until Covid brought our industry to a full stop. We needed assistance to help cover payroll and transition costs as we attempted to adapt to the changes to the market as a result of the pandemic. I checked with BCL to see if they could assist or had information on resources for finding funding. They helped again with finding a grant program to assit us in supporting the families that depended on us while unemployment numbers continued to grow. They also offered business counseling and helped with both costs and brainstorming the transistion of our business model. They kept me updated on the process and deadlines. They were always available by phone and return emails on the same day. This was especially impressive considering the number of applicants they were processing and the county compliance requirments. Kudos to you all!

We applied for the PPP through the CARES Act with a different lender and it went terribly. We were met with no return calls or emails, 6 different loan officers and finally being told that even with all requested documents submitted they simply would be able to process the loan in time to meet the deadline. When the application process reopened, I tried again with the same lender assuming they had all of our information and would have more experience navigating the process during the second round. Again I recieved no feedback, updates or return emails. At this point, I reached out to BCL of Texas to see if they could assist. BCL had the application and through checklist of needed item available immediatly. They even followed up with me unprompted to see if I needed any assistance and spent time on the phone helping me with all of my questions. They had my loan processes and deposited before the other lender ever emailed confirmation of my application.

I really can’t say enough about the help I’ve recieved from BCL of Texas and I am so very greatful for thier assistance during such a difficult time. I particularly want to thank Yeraldin Yordi for her help with both the Thrive program and PPP process. Your work has done so much for my family, my employees and the vendors that depend on us for business. Thanks Y’all!

I had a wonderful experience with BCL. Their team was extremely knowledgeable about the homebuying process and was able to help me better understand every step of the way. They helped me prioritize the tasks that were truly important, and their guidance was invaluable. Thanks to their support, I was able to feel confident in my decisions and I’m now in the process of finding the perfect home for me. I would highly recommend BCL to anyone who is looking to buy a home.

Shady handling of distributing funding from covid recovery grants to recipients. There is definitely something going on with this place and its employees that needs to be investigated.

I do not recommend any government agency or organization hire this company as a contractor to manage distribution of funding.
