5 Reviews on “RBFCU Allen”
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I went into RBFCU to convert a matured CD into checking and savings accounts. A teller, Christina, helped with this. She was businesslike and seemed capable.
When we received our checks, they had the wrong city/town on them. I went in to get this resolved and Christina again waited on me. Again, no smile, no hello/welcome, no anything but strictly business. She never even offered a verbal apology for the inconvenience.
We received our new checks a few days later. This time only my husband’s name was listed on the checks. My name was gone. I know that they use another company to print their checks, so they are not directly responsible, but I went back into the credit union to get this resolved. This time Cynthia handled the matter, although Christina was there and seemed to be guiding her through some of this. Neither lady greeted me, smiled, or in any way acknowledged me as a customer. Cynthia did enter information into the computer then handed me back the checks. Again, absolutely no comment, apologies, nothing!!
I have accounts in other corporately owned banks but wanted to support our local credit union. In the past, the credit unions we had were absolutely the BEST!! They were personable, very friendly and made you feel valued. I expected MUCH better than what I received on my last two visits!!
I then read the reviews for this branch and just 3 weeks ago, Christina was cited for rude behavior. The powers to be responded that the matter would be worked on by the team.
There appears to be a disconnect here, which is why I am sending a letter to their headquarters. As I was working on this, my husband noted that he had an account with this credit union back in the 1950s. At that time, if someone ran into a problem with this organization, the base commander would be notified and appropriate action taken. While I doubt that this would still be the case, I am taking this action because I want to see the credit union be a successful organization, but judging from most of the reviews, it has absolutely terrible customer service. Customer service is an easy fix. The manager of the branch, whose name is not listed anywhere that I could find, should insist that all tellers and staff follow certain protocols. Rule number one is to be welcoming, friendly and customer oriented. If there is a problem, a simple apology and assurances that the matter will be rectified should be standard procedures. A smile, kind words and some warmth, will go a very long way to helping the customer feel appreciated and valued.
My husband wants to pull the account but I want to try to affect change because this kind of change really is easy, but direction has to come from management. I hope this will happen.
I can’t believe this bank is most useful bank you can have as your bank.
I shut my account. They opened it with a -ve balance after 4 days
I can’t believe.
Now you will see a message in response to this from their worst customer service to call them
Why should I call you.
Don’t open an account. You will regret
Entire bank is run by call center
It’s not about this branch but overall RBFCU.
This branch has great people. Even the branch manager Brian case is great
Issues:
Entire customer service and all operations are handled by a call center
The worst globally
Call center :
1. Six months no access to my online statements
2. The entire staff goes home at 6.00 PM
3. No credit card staff on weekend, if your card is blocked by chance
4. Extremely poor service. They hang up the call and not polite
5. When you call credit card services it says ‘we don’t recognize number you are calling from and goes in circles’
6. They charged me overdraft fees even when it was a bank error and would not refund money.
7. I had a fraud on my account. They credited the money and came back after 3- months, sorry we cannot process your request, no reason. Fact ( they lost my report ). I kept on thinking it is done. I lost $1300.
I am very angry at these losers
Product review : in scale of 1-5, 5 being best
1. Checking /savings account – 1 ( read above )
2. Credit card – 1 ( read above )
3. Business account – 1 ( I plan to close it ). I never used it much. I know they will mess up in future.
4. Loan – 3 ( Only problem they are also a part of call center. They do work hard and but they also shut down at 6.00 pm)
I’ve been a member here at the Allen location since 2015 and up until the last 7 months or so i have been happier banking here. I’m not sure what recently changed but the service sucks at this branch.
The final incident that made me decide to finally swap my accounts to other banks was after getting a new debit card rush shipped for a mishap that happened on the RBFCU corp side of things I went to deposit some cash in the atm. The machine never gave my card back. When i went inside to see if they could retrieve my card, I was told they cannot as they don’t service the ATM at their branch and if i wanted to rush a new card it would be $35.
I called the corp bank number who rush delivered a new card and waved the fee for me.
this incident was just one of the 5 issues I’ve had with them since seems their customer service has gone down the drain.
This is a great credit union and the reason I moved from a big national bank to a credit union is the difference in profit motive. I joined around the time I also took out an auto loan with the CU. Approval took only minutes. Same thing with my wife’s car.
Banking by phone is great. Deposit checks using my phone – never had poor service from anyone at any branch.
