As a local small business, our relationship with the bank is very important. We feel that First State Bank in Athens is more than just our bank. They are our business partner. Our business is not an easy one to understand. However, our banker, Michael Neill and his team have helped us for over 20 years ride the highs and lows of being a small family owned business in Henderson County, Texas. I truly cherish our relationship with First State Bank and attribute much of our success to their caring about us.
I am a small business owner. We make small purchases using our First State Bank debit card daily. However today, we had to purchase several higher priced items, totaling much more than our daily normal. I received a call, from First State, verifying we made the purchase.
I has not anticipating any contact from the bank. It was very nice to know they are watching my account!
I’ve personally had accounts here and have worked with businesses that have accounts. Any way you need it, they’ll be there to help you figure it out. This bank does a lot of local business for companies and they support their community in so many ways by giving back. I was grateful to be able to collect coke tabs for Sophie and deliver them to this bank in order to help a local child in need. They never stop giving.
They say 1 thing and do another. They charge you fees for everything. Was told you wouldn’t get an OD fee if it was under $5. That was a lie. You get charged $30 for even being $0.5 over. Then when you contact them about it, they are rude to you. All they care about is your money. Not you as an individual. This happens to be the WORST BANK I have ever had the displeasure of working with.
Top notch bank, I am been doing business with them personally as well as my business for years. I am always greeted with professionalism and a smile.
