I had a loan that was charged off right before Covid and conveniently after all of the chaos of Covid they have re-opened the loan to try and collect and have also added a crazy amount of fees. They’re doing all of this AND still reporting the loan is charged/written off. Just adding fees where they can in an attempt to boost their amounts on reports and such. Seeing the other reviews on poor application and customer service among other issues does not surprise me at all. In fact I see it as a sign as to why they are re-opening a very old loan. Seems they’re not doing very well and have become desperate. I strongly feel they are doing this to have better reporting to the FDIC and other companies that determine funding and credibility. Any time I’ve called to see what’s going on, I have had very rude representatives who talk down, shame, and even bully me in awful ways in an attempt to collect. They even still use the “we’re here to help you and do what we can. Let’s work together” spiel if you get a “good” employee. Otherwise they are in full blown bully mode. Still in the research process and potentially having legal help look into this. Moral of the story is UFCU has gone down hill in every single way and you can clearly see the trend. Unless they do a full revamp/update of the company, it is not worth banking with them. Maybe for short term needs but otherwise, they’re not the credit union to have anymore.
Just wanted to say big thank you for the amazing service and patience that Kassy gave to me and my family. She not only gave us great customer service she offered us a lollipop. I know that times can be of an essence but I thank you for taking the time for us.. Great job UFCU

UFCU always was a somewhat backwards bank, with some essential features missing, for example ability to transfer funds internationally. Following a so-called upgrade in 2023 (downgrade would be more descriptive), the user experience has degenerated considerably. The most recent experience of a family member not having charges reflected on her credit card (twice in a month), and having to call UFCU to manually sync the card with her account is beyond comprehension.
There are enough alternatives and UFCU does not offer any incentives or benefits that make it worth putting up with the failure to provide a reliable and quality user experience.
UFCU is not a supported bank on one of the biggest rent payment software systems, Yardi’s RentCafe. This means I have to pay my rent by alternate and much more inconvenient (for both me and the leasing office) and/or costly means (like …
