Great at first until they start charging you fees left and right. Been with them three years and it’s been the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. You get the occasional helpful person but most lie to you and don’t take responsibility for UHCU’s mistakes.
I decided to support a smaller, more local bank believing the service might be better than all of these national bank chains. I WOW WAS I WRONG!!!!
I have several accounts with UHCU, all of which I will be closing and banking somewhere else. UHCU’s employees are terribly trained and misinformed resulting in mistakes being corrected on the customer’s time and money. They put ridiculously long holds on larger amount checks, and unlike any other bank in the nation, somehow have no way to verify funds on checks not drawn on their bank. No one there is willing to use common sense, or even exhibit a bit of hospitality by take an step to help customers. Instead, they do the bare minimum, without respecting their customers’ most valuable asset: time. Maybe this was a good place to bank before the Information age, but UHCU cannot keep up with the real world as it is today. This bank has cost me more time, money and frustration than any bank has in my 30+ years of banking. If this bank were a car, it would the one that belonged to Fred Flintstone. And let me tell you, my feet are really sore from running over rubble with these people.
I just joined recently and am so glad to be a new member! Every single person I have spoken to either in person or on the phone has been incredibly kind, pleasant, professional, and extremely helpful. Coming from someone who works in Quality Assurance at a call center, all of the staff on phones are exceptional! I have felt genuinely valued as a member and highly recommend this credit union. Thank you!
I’ve been a member of UHCU since 2013 and never plan on leaving. They accommodated me since the beginning when I was in a tough financial spot with little income and no other banks would allow me to open an account. I even moved out of state for over a year and had no issue with utilizing the shared branch network. I just recently financed a newer vehicle with them at a lower rate than the dealership’s financial department could secure with more favorable terms and couldn’t be happier. Thank you UHCU and specifically Christina Rosas for making the whole process so seamless!
