For those of us on the go, though, be warned: this bank works as slow as molasses (W 40th is far superior if you can swing it). But hey, if you’re looking to practice patience, it might be worth a visit!
Jim Sikes at Northstar Bank Mortgage in Austin did a great job of getting our loan approved quickly, and we had an extremely close closing date. They’re one of the few banks still offering 30-day approvals, and rates and fees were competitive. There were some communication issues between NS and our realtor during the closing process, but other than that, everything was smooth and Jim answered all of our questions as a first time buyers. Recommended.
