A friend wrote me a check and she has an account there. So I took the check there to cash it.
It’s her bank, they charged me $12 to cash that check. I have never been charged a fee from a bank which a check is written from.. absolutely high way robbery.. so sad I’ve never had to pay a fee add a bank where the check is written from to get it cashed. $12 for somebody to push a couple buttons. WooooW…
Charged us a $10 bad address fee for sending something to an address that we haven’t even lived at in OVER 2 years! Bravo Meridian, you found a way to capitalize on your own inability to manage records, all the while stealing money away from a 3 year old’s college savings account.
This is in additional to the worst customer service I have ever experience when attempting to refinance a mortgage through Meridian Trust. Rude loan officer, months with no communication, even after escalating the situation, only to come back requesting a plethora of documentation for even the smallest financial details.
I absolutely love this credit union. I have been with them since end of 2011 I believe and I would recommend them to anyone. I do all my business through them that I am able to even though I now live in Texas. All my loans have been with them. Everyone I have ever dealt with have been very friendly and helpful. Not to mention any time there has been attempts on my card that were not mine they have protected me from theft. Anytime there were unknown charges they verified with me and I was not stuck with those charges. I have read some of the other reviews and of the negative ones I took the time to actually read seem to be the customer blaming the credit union for their own mistakes. It is your job to update your address when you move. The credit union has no way of knowing to ask you for your new address unless you tell them. When needing to send me anything they verify my address so I don’t believe the negative comment about this. Complaining about them asking for documentation for a loan you requested is ridiculous. Do you want a loan? Then follow their policies and provide them with the documentation needed or don’t get a loan. There were others as well. And there were many that I didn’t read so some may very well be valid. Just people need to take some responsibility for their own mistakes. Do not be swayed by the negative comments. Look at the good comments and just know that this is a good Credit Union. If you want to speak with someone that works there other than a call center then look up the branch and call the number that is listed on google and call during business hours. And remember to be respectful and friendly even when upset. You get what you give. Don’t take your frustration out on the person who is trying to help you. You will get more help from people when you take a beat and stay calm. No I do not work for the credit union but I do work with the public so I know how it can be.
They have a very friendly and helpful group working at that location by the Cheyenne hospital. In my opinion it’s the best I’ve had to deal with since moving to Wyoming!

This is probably one of the best credit unions with which I have ever done business. We have been members since the late 90’s and kept our accounts even when we moved overseas. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about their work. The loan and credit card departments are thorough. Will continue to do business with MTFCU in the future.
UPDATE – This is the only credit union that I will use as my main financial institution. The new branch location over by Lowes on the north side is easy to access and the staff have always been friendly. I am glad to see that they are growing in Cheyenne especially.
Opening our account over 23 years ago was a great investment.
