Frustrating Experience with Business Account Name Change

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at a Bank of America branch while trying to change the name on my business account. This was my third attempt to get this simple task done, and I encountered unhelpful responses and poor customer service.

Upon arriving at the branch, I was informed by Danielle Zepeda, the representative, that I could not open a new account with the same EIN number until all transactions on the current account were processed. When I offered to use an alternative LLC, Danielle became visibly irritated and instructed me to email the formation agreement.

I had an agreement that wasn’t filled out, and as I started signing it, Danielle abruptly told me she couldn’t accept it because I was signing it at that moment. Despite explaining that it was the formation agreement and could be verified on the Secretary of State website, she refused to accept it. When I suggested printing it out and bringing it back, she still declined without any clear explanation.

The situation escalated when I was directed to speak with the manager, who reiterated that the bank required physical documents to prevent fraud. This policy makes zero sense to me as physical documents are often easier to forge than electronic verifications. Even after showing verification on the Secretary of State website, my concerns were dismissed.

Overall, the staff, particularly Danielle Zepeda, seemed more focused on avoiding work rather than helping a customer in need. Their attitude was rude and unaccommodating, leaving me extremely dissatisfied with the service.

I hope Bank of America can address these issues to provide better service for their business customers in the future.

If I could give zero stars I would. The people working here are absolutely horrible. My interaction started at the ATM, which malfunctioned while I was making a deposit, and resulted in the deposit not being posted and the money being gone. This is the greatest inconvenience possible at the time as I truly needed the cash today. I called the bank just to let them know that they should probably warn other customers that the ATM isn’t functioning properly, and to my surprise, the employee goes “oh yes we’ve been having issues with that ATM, someone should be fixing it soon”. I asked if she could possibly do anything to warn other customers, a sign, a cone, she sighed and said she’d let management know, as if I had inconvenienced her. If the ATM’s issues are known, why are you continuing to let customers use it with no warning? Absolutely horrible service, all because they’ve refused to walk out to the parking lot and now I’m left without the money I need today for an issue that was already known and could’ve been prevented. Thanks for the amazing customer service and the greatest inconvenience.

If you are any race other than Hispanic, you will be treated unfairly at this location. I don’t expect this branch to make any adjustments because this is Houston and that is the population they serve. I do hope this serves as a warning for …

My visit to the Bank of America branch was made exceptional by Selena’s outstanding service. Her patience and attention to detail in understanding the client’s needs were remarkable. Selena went above and beyond, providing a personalized and caring approach that made a usually mundane experience, delightful. Highly recommend seeking out Selena for any banking needs!

Pleasant staff at this location, however, customers are not allowed to use the restroom. I completed two transactions (cashiers check and bank deposit). The young lady explained that they have had “incidents.” Unacceptable!!
They look up your account before allowing customers into the lobby so they are aware of why you are there… so you can’t distinguish a customer from “riff-raff”? I have been a BOA customer since 2005.
    Unacceptable.
