Jenny Lake Boating (7-7 summer hours) is the concessionaire that provides shuttle services across Jenny Lake. Reservations are not needed as the boats run continuously throughout the day, both out and back, and the wait is not usually long. Purchase tickets at East Boat Dock, and you’ll usually be able to get on the next boat. It’s a fun 7-minute cruise across the lake, with an informed pilot who will tell you all you need to know, and when to be back at the West Cascade Dock for the last boat back. The boat features life-jackets and bus-style seating, under a canopy. Bring a light jacket as the wind across the water can feel cold, and don’t forget your camera. Cascade Dock was where we saw our only bear in GTNP. A juvenile Brown bear was scouting out the dock area just yards from people who were waiting on the shuttle boat.
This was a spur-of the moment choice for us and we really enjoyed it. Tickets were $17 (senior fare) each, and credit cards are accepted.

So we’re a family of hikers, so waiting an hour to pay money seemed like a waste when we could hike around Jenny Lake…only about 2.5-3mi around to the trailhead. Since the trail is relatively flat, we were able to run the areas that weren’t too crowded with people. But after Inspiration Point, we decided to give the kids the experience of the ferry and enjoy the amazing views on the way back to the Visitor Center.

One way ticket was $12/adult & $10/kid, so $44 for a family of 4. Quite spendy, but beautiful views. Would prefer to just rent a kayak across and then hike to Inspiration Point next time. But kids loved it!!

Parking fills up fast, so I would recommend getting an earlier start.

The most visited spot in Grand Teton national park. Beautiful mountains and lake. Recommend to take the boat across the lake and hike to see hidden falls and the overlook. Boat ride costs $20/ adult round trip. A must visit!

This is a must, if you want a refreshing short boat ride to some great mountain hiking. It’ll save you a 3.5 mile hike each way around the lake, so you spend your energy at a much more picturesque and challenging backcountry mountain hiking. The boat ride is $20-something with return ticket stamped on your hand. You’ll see a waterfall, some spectacular views of the lake Jenny, and some wildlife on your hike.

We took the ferry ride on the last day of our stay in the park. It was overcast and lightly raining nearly the entire time, but we still enjoyed the experience. Quick check in process and the ferry driver had a nice sense of humor. We hiked to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. It was an enjoyable hike and not too difficult. Stunning views and a memorable experience for us. I would recommend this shuttle service.
