Absolutely worst customer service with Laura. She is always rude when Tiffany isn’t there. Went in for change today as I do at least once a week with Tiffany mind you I have an account with this bank and Laura basically said this is the last time she will give me change. What the heck is that? Not sure what her problem is but they either need to retrain her on customer service or fire her. I’ve always received the worst customer service from her extremely snotty attitude. Tiffany is the only reason I bank with them because she is awesome!
After having decent service for the 9 years I was with them, they recently changed their policy to put a 7 day hold on any and all checks over 1000$ deposited, even those drawn on a local bank or cashiers checks. No exceptions. This makes them unusable for anyone who does contract work occasionally, like myself, or who actually gets a paycheck. This policy indicates that they must be in a death spiral…I have never seen anything like it from ANY other bank. And NO…I NEVER had a deposited check be returned…this is a policy for everyone, even customers like me who have been with them for nearly a decade. If I could do that, they would get negative stars. They also have jacked up all their fees to be on par with the big banks. They have a grand total of 2 ATMs. They charge exorbitant fees for using other banks ATMs, even other Credit Unions. Their debit card comes with many strings attached…it is blocked from purchases in many areas, including Austin, due to their fear of losing 3 Dollars to fraud. So why use them? I thought a Credit Union would provide better service than commercial banks to their members, but here the opposite is true. They treat all their “members” like potential criminals. I closed my account and moved to Wells Fargo.
Horrible Customer Service! If you need a loan for something that is an emergency DO NOT GO HERE! I basically had to do their job for them. They told us they would let us know the status of the approval once it was done in a day or two… 5 days later I never got an update. I had to call them just for them to inform me that they were busy and they were going to lunch. I told them to please let me know something when they came back from lunch and if I didn’t answer for them to leave me a message since I was going back to work and that I would call them when I got off at 2:30pm. 2 weeks later no one ever called me back so I called them and they told me “yes you were approved that they tried to call me but the lime kept ringing and ringing. I told them I never got a call and if for some reason they did call me they could have left a message since it is concerning something that I had previously kept calling about. So she said when I could come by and sign the loan” … however I did go to Lubbock and the people were so much nicer and more helping and made sure all me answers were answered!
So I was genuinely happy about banking here. Looking to hopefully have a long term baking solution. I was happy at first then I made a payment to my credit card. 6 days go by and I always check my balance. It was cleared through my credit card company and the payment was applied to my credit card. Was it cleared through WesTex? NOPE! So they returned my credit card payment and then hit me with a 23$ fee for denying that payment that I literally had the money in there to cover it before spending anything else. I said fine. I see that one.
Now keep in mind I denied having overdraft protection on my account for the reason that I didn’t want any extra fees for going over. I made a $1.93 purchase that went through so I figured I had enough to cover it. WRONG! I check my balance and I’m negative 1.93. So I checked the balance on my account and it was showing negative. Fine. The next day I deposit money into my account. Everything is fine nobody says anything. I leave and check my balance on the app and ONLY. AFTER I deposited money they charged me ANOTHER 23$ for a negative balance fee. I don’t even have overdraft!!
I called and the lady I spoke to started giving me an attitude like you wouldn’t believe. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. Her attitude got me to the point it mad me so angry that I went back there and closed my account. Went over there to close my account and told the teller. I hear a voice a screaching from the room in the back say “get his debit card!” which I can only assume is the old hag I was speaking to on the phone. Which it didn’t matter because I had given the teller everything already.
Fees fees and more fees along with a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL individual who makes the whole place look bad. DO NOT BANK HERE!!
I’m not the only low star review so don’t just take my word on it. I wish I would have listened to all the others when I read them.
