5 Reviews on “3 Forks Muddy Gap Services”
I don’t usually leave reviews for service stations but this was one of the best interactions I’ve ever had with an attendant. Some people are just naturals at their work. My wife purchased a prairie bonnet and got a bit of history on the garment and instructions for wearing and washing it. If we were coming back this way we’d make a point to stop!
i was here back in march. this is the only gas station for 60 miles depending on which direction you are moving. however if you get two and half gallons here you can make it to the next gas station over with most cars. i have a hybrid so i only paid for one gallon to the dismay of the cashier that was here (got a good chuckle out of this later thinking about it). yes they charge you twice the price of what you would pay at the next gas station from what i recall. back in march i paid $5 or $6 per gallon here but they do save you from being stranded and there is no cellphone reception for atleast 60 mile diameter from this location. its quite an experience to be out at this part of the country. i still think back to the experience of driving out here with hardly any cars. i drove about 20 minutes without seeing another car and that was an epic experience i will remember forever.
Like others have said, diesel pumped slower than molasses. Gas and diesel prices are straight highway robbery. Don’t make the same mistake I did! Make sure you have plenty of fuel to speed pass this place.
My first impression of this place was really bad. It smelled like someone had just smoked in there, everything was old and stale, and there’s graffiti on the walls. It looks very disorganized, and their racks aren’t fully stocked. The cashier was not respectful towards our group, and everything is overpriced. They do charge for water as well as ice.
It’s not worth your time, just keep driving.
Only pull into this place if you want about six inches of mud coating your vehicle.
I go to get diesel and the pump only pumped about one drop per hour so only got enough to get me to next station.
After the issue with pump I decide to go in for bathroom break and some tasty snacks. The second I walk in it has the atmosphere of being under a bridge in some inner city hood. There is writing and graffiti everywhere. (I would not recommend small children reading any of it). I look at the clerk who did not even notice I walked in because he was staring at his phone and never looked up. I go to bathroom and realized that the parking lot full of mud was cleaner. I then decide to go for those tasty treats. As I am walking around I am nervous about even touching anything in this store and I feel like it is one of those scary movies where the audience is wondering what idiot would stay in a haunted place. I decide that going hungry would be a much better option so I start to leave. I decide to wave at the cashier however he still has his head in his phone and has no clue I ever came in or was leaving.
So overall if you are not completely out of gas I would just try to make it to the next stop.
