The guy that helped me was nice enough, but the only bad thing I have to say is that they charged me $15 for a debit card when I opened up a checking account as a new customer. I’ve never had any other bank charge me that much for getting my debit card. IBC, Bank of America, Navy Federal Credit Union, RBFCU, all let me have my debit card with no charge, but for some reason, Woodforest charges a steep $15 fee for the debit card. I asked if the fee could be waived, and what a coincidence…the guy that was helping me told me that his boss “was at a meeting”. What are the odds that his boss would be at a meeting when I asked if he could waive the fee for the debit card? I have a feeling he was just saying that to get out of actually trying to waive the fee for me. I did need a secondary checking account though, so I went through with it, but yeah….that $15 fee is too much. Everything else was okay though.
Woodforest National Bank is the “go to” bank if you want outstanding banking services. Mr. Abel Martinez was extremely knowledgeable in explaining the bank products. I came in as a customer and left out feeling like family.
